Yogyakarta (Part II)

We bought Carica (some fruits of papaya varietal), a bit tasteless though. It is a popular snack, marinated in sugar water. Passion fruit, the seed was from Thailand but was planted in Wonosobo. We bought some just to try.

We saw a little boy playing kite on the roof of some building near the water castle.

We tried the street jamur, a bit too sweet for my liking, but it is supposed to be good, just like our herbal tea.

Once upon a time, one of the King's past time was to sit and watch concubines swim in this pool.

My lunch at a grand buffet style restaurant call Ndalem Ngabean.

Our dessert.

This is a mystical place. I can feel something here. Candi Kalasan.

We stayed here the last 3 nights at Duta Garden. We had our swim on the last night.

Yogyakarta (Part I)

Yes, I am back from my 6 days trip in Yogyakarta. I have seen many beautiful candi (temples). I will share some pics here:

We took pictures with local students. I have been stopped twice another 2 times by other students in other areas too. I think they like taking pictures with tourists.

We had ayam goreng with nasi and ayam soto for lunch on the first day we arrived. I was very hungry and it was delicious.

Borobudur was spectacular. We had to wake up early, about 4am to see the sunrise. It is a pity we are not allowed to go to the top floor with the stupas. I took this picture from the 5th floor.

Everyone have to wear a sarong to come inside Borobudur.

This is one of my favourite picture. We were in the car and we saw a bunch of bebek (duck) walking back home with the guidance of the owner. We went down the car and took a picture. Love it.

We caught the next sunrise the next day. Those are my hands, by the way.

Dish Deli

Yesterday I went for chinese tui na massage and cupping. My back has so many red marks now, it is interesting to see.

After that, I met up with my language exchange friend to have lunch at Dish Deli. I bought the vouchers for RM18 per person.

My friend ordered Fisherman's pie. I tasted this before, I think it is awesome.

I orderd a roast chicken dish. Delicious.

My dessert: apple crumble with ice cream.

To have a lovely lunch with a main course, a drink and a dessert for RM18 is a steal. I am glad I bought the vouchers earlier from Milk A Deal. :)

I Love Post Crossing!

About a month ago, I joined a post crossing website: http://www.postcrossing.com/

I sent 3 postcards to random people, one from Germany, one from China and one from USA. Yesterday I sent another 3 to Belarus (not sure where it is), Finland and The Netherlands.

Today, I received 3 postcards from China, Belarus and Belgium. Awesome!!!! Looking forward to receive more!

Lovely dinner at La Risata

Today me and Mun Siong celebrate Kawati's belated birthday at La Risata. I couldn't believe how delicious it was. Even the bread and olive was very delicious. I like the pizza very much, it is called Pizza Vegetali with pine nuts, aubergine, cherry tomatoes.

The appetiser we ordered came later but it was alright. We had this baked aubergine with cheese and tomatoes, forgot the name though.

One of the highlight, beside the pizza is the baked seafood marinara! Yum!! We finished everything.

Lastly, we had Torta di Cioccolato, a flourless dark chocolate cake with a melting chocolate centre served with vanilla ice cream. Ooh la la!

I am very happy with the food quality and ambience of the restaurant. Definitely will go again.

Lunch at Akari

My lunch today, saba shioyaki at Akari. Not bad, but the food temperature was not hot enough today, in my opinion. Here is the pic, oops, I took 2 pieces of papaya before I remember to take the photo.

Fassender & Rausch muffins

This weekend is busy busy busy, but I i finished most of my tasks yesterday: buy shampoo, laundry power etc, pump petrol, wash toilet, wash fan, sweep floor, hand wash clothes, wash my car...

Today I decided to use my Fassender & Rausch hot chocolate. I was supposed to make a drink with it...but I was too full to drink it. I bought this expensive chocolate last year May when I visited Berlin.

I want to use it quickly before expiry date, November 2011 :(

I had trouble melting them, so I decided just leave it and not forcing too much. I added some orange peels too.

Just put my usual ingredients, milk, sugar, self-raising flour, eggs...

It turned out okay, very home made and not so pretty.

Few days of breakfasts made in advanced.
